What are 'refurbished computers'?

I want to buy a compaq refurbished computer what do they mean when it is factory refurbished? Is it clean? Does it look like new? Anyone had a refurbished computers before?

What are 'refurbished computers'?aurora

A refurbished computer is totally new and clean. In general, these were taken off the assembly line and set aside for refurbishment. In some cases, these were repaired, but still NEW.

You will notice that it still comes with a new computer warranty. That means that they see it as BRAND NEW too.

I have purchased a number of Refurbished computers from DELL in the past. I discovered that they were often better than NEW, since additional testing was performed. But Dell stopped discounting refurbished computers.

dear member,

The process of restoring a product by cleaning, repairing, recovering, and reusing the item for its original intended use

Rebiult by the manufacturer
We have one at home. It works just fine
Refurbish means to make clean, bright, or fresh again; renovate.

So when you purchase a refurbished computer your purchasing a used computer that has been rebuilt to like new conditions. When it is factory refurbished it means that the product was sent back to the factory/company that made/produced the computer and they rebuilt it, which is usually the best with refurbished products. It will look like new, it may have a few cosmetic imperfections, but it will work just like a new computer.
it means it was used a refurbished pc had all non os data wiped of the hard drive, they operate like new infact im wateing on one to come in the mail, there fine
Used computers restored to ''like new'' condition. Generally they look and operate exactly like a new computer with the same specs.
refurbished means its used but has new parts or something like that.
it is an old comupter with all or mosty new parts
Basically it means second hand. But only buy one if it comes with a warranty
